I don’t think so does he answer to his old name ?How late is too late to change his name?
Not that he knows his name, because I never actually called him Boba. Every time I’m talking to him I call him bug or Boba Bug (but said so quickly that it really comes out as just one word) or Beetle because his coloring reminds me of a Junebug.
Aww that’s just so adorable I can’t believe how far he’s comeEeeeeeee!
His original name is fruit, which he doesn’t appear to answer to at alldoes he answer to his old name
That's exactly how Nala was. Almost completely silent unless something alarmed her. She was incredibly gentle and only bit me once in 11 years because a car backfiring scared her. He’s such a strange little bird. And I don’t know if it’s because I’ve never had a conure before, so I don’t know what normal is for them, or what.
He barely makes any noise. If something is understandably concerning like a broom or something like that, then he’ll give an alarm call, but overall he’s remarkably quiet. The most noise he’s made was today - my partner took his hat off and Bug absolutely flipped out, just lost his mind but only when the hat was upside down. I’m wondering if maybe someone has trapped him in a hat or something, maybe used one to catch him. When the hat was right side up, it was fine, but the second it flipped upside down he lost his marbles.
He’s had plenty of opportunities to get mouthy with me and use his beak and be nippy, but the only time he’s done it was to give an exploratory pinch on my lip, and even then that was incredibly gentle and was really more of a light squeeze. There’s not a single nip that’s happened.
He is BALLSY. He’ll get inside Isadora’s cage if I’m not watching and she’ll huff and get all angry marshmallow on him, full puff and hissing, and he’ll be ready to go toe to toe! She’s like 8 times his size! How do some of y’all have conures and other species?
He’s hilarious though, and we’re slowly (so so so so slowly) making progress on getting him comfortable with hands. Oddly enough, he’ll allow me to scoop him with two hands if he’s on me, but the concept of stepping up is absolutely beyond him.
Oh geesh yeah that's unfortunately a very common thing for Greenies to do. They think they're the size of Lions. There’s a meme that has been floating around talking about if you’re not part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem, and somebody responding “I’m the whole problem.”
Bug is the whole problem.
I have been told that conures don’t back down from a fight, but I did not expect him to go out and start fights. And the problem is that he’s starting a fight with a bird that’s four times his size. He’s literally going to Isadora to pick a fight with her, and she’s the one backing down - for now.
I told you they are scared in slightest I thought INdir wasnt scared but before pip and remi got along they really went for it at each other every opportunity they got had to watch them like a hawkThere’s a meme that has been floating around talking about if you’re not part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem, and somebody responding “I’m the whole problem.”

Have you met parrots do they stay where they supposed to if you find that trick tell me your secretYeah I definitely did not realize that he would be the one to stir the pot. Now I’m back to having to do cage rotation for the time being until I can be better certain that everybody is going to stay where they’re supposed to.
