Boba Bug got a clean bill of health, so he's now with everyone else.

And everyone is VERY curious.

he still not fully tamed, but hopefully this will help him to see that I’m not an absolutely terrifying presence.

There are 4 air purifiers in here, just as an aside, and the big one (Levoit 200S) is next to Isadora's cage.

Actually, he's kind of a weird case - I've been picking @Emma&pico and @Pixiebeak 's brains over him.

He's skittish of hands - But he'll take treats from my fingers, both through the cage wall and directly with nothing between us.

If I call him to me, he gets very excited and sort of... I don't know what to call it. Squats like he's about to fly to me, but won't fly. He was previously clipped, but has full flight feathers now. I think he’s a bit like Isadora, in that he can fly, but he’s unaware that he is capable of doing so. but you can see in his body language he very much does want to come to me, but he doesn’t. He also won’t step up if I try, and I’m unable to just sort of scoop my fingers up under him because he runs if I get too too close.

He has a tantrum if I leave the room, but I absolutely cannot try to touch him.

So far I offer a lot of treats - in fact, I’m pretty sure he’s probably 99% safflower seeds. But I seem to have hit a wall on progress.

Any ideas?

Keep working at it, eventually he will figure out he can fly and you are trustworthy and a friend. He's just working up the courage to accept that you really wont hurt him and can supply scritches, treats, and cuddles. Puff, the Jenday Conure we are failing at fostering will sit on the bars and wiggle as he watches us do things but runs away and hides the minute we slowly walk up to him.

That's exactly what's happening here - squat, wiggle, do that little pre-flight flutter at the shoulders, but if I look like I might approach him he runs

Puff can fly, I let him out once to see what he would do and he walked up to his door, looked around, thought about it, then took off and burrowed into some blankets we keep in a little wooden open bog thing. He was in there with just his tail sticking out for like 15 minutes then I decided he was going to over heat so I scooped him up with a towel and he struggle away and flew around till he landed on Pippens cage top. He was winded but not about to give up and eventually landed under Dobbys cage by the door we never use for outside.
Sister Sandy finally grabbed him with the towel and he wriggled till he latched onto her finger and started chewing as she put him in his house. He probably hadn't been out or flown in 20 years but he could still do it. He does flap his wings occasionally though so there's that bit of exerciser.
Kiwi can not fly but she'll flap her wings to slow down and she did flap and stretch when she had her few better moments when she was out being held when we thought we were going to lose her. They both need bigger cages as they live in the tiny ones they know that we were given with them.

How long has he been in your home again?

I think you are trucking along pretty good. He likes you is interested in you he wants to. It really just does take longer than you have , to build trust and confidence. Especially as I'm sure he has some hiccups with the young child in his previous home. Because if he was at love bug stage they would have kept him.

In my head he started out well socialized by breeder and a sweet baby, then not enough time with him every day, and some hesitancy and nips and jerking hands away..but he was rehomed before he became completely fearful and out right attacking. So a little confusion, and hesitation.

If he has got treats down like this , then just start working a little harder for them. Coming to you, moving him around out of cage perches coming to you for treats . I would put a rope perch across the length of top of cage. So he can move easier and with confidence. Then have him walk to you from far side for treat. Then go to the other side and have him walk the length again for a treat. Once he has that down. Id lay a hand flat on top of cage , and have him walk on rope over hand from one side to the other. Then I'd have my hand on rope flat sort of mashing the rope flat in that section and have him walk on rope then over hand on rope to get treats . Some variation of thst till walking over your hand was no big deal. Then trying for pause in hand as walked over .

Or /and other simple things to get treats, touch this for treat, the turn around for treat . They can pick up little stuff like that pretty quick. Especially now that he is addicted to crack safflower seeds!

This morning he seems VERY fascinated by the cockatiels being all over me. He's watching them get head rubs and looks a bit put out that he isn't getting some too. Lord knows I'd like to because he's got pins everywhere and I am desperate to get them

Aw bless his heart. I agree that he'll probably be all over you in no time. Especially the more he sees the others all over you for love hell be wanting to get in on that snuggle action.

That's what Pippen is too, she's so opinionated and nippy but she seems happy and says Pretty bird sometimes like I say it to her since she got here.

Our conure does the little excited happy dance as well. I suspect he will be hesitant for awhile and then all of a sudden you will have a velcro bird on your hands. They are so funny. Dragon was like hesitant for a day or two and then he was like "I have been trying to cuddle you for two days... why couldn't you get it right".

Pippen is like I love you but I am required to bite so we have to be careful with her. When she first got here she slept on my shoulder and hands and got scritches, then she started feeling better and was like you must pay for rescuing me:wacky:
