I am beyond gutted to read about your beloved birds, your wife's struggles, and how much pain and despair you've had to endure. I am so extremely sorry, John. Your birds were such a huge part of your life. My heart goes out to you.
I can't even wrap my head around your loss.

I perched by your bed last night
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying,
You found it hard to sleep.
I whistled to you softly
as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you,
I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times,
your hands reached up to me.
I was with you at the shops today,
Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels,
I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today,
You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you,
that I'm not lying there.
I flew with you towards the house,
as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my beak on you,
I smiled and said "it's me."
You looked so very tired,
and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know,
that I was perching there.
It's possible for me,
to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty,
"I never went away."
You sat there very quietly,
then smiled, I think you knew
... in the stillness of that evening,
I was very close to you.
The day is over...
I watch you yawning
and say "goodnight, God bless,
I'll see you in the morning."
And when the time is right for you
to cross the brief divide,
I'll fly across to greet you
and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you,
there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out
...then come home to be with me.

Aw John you made me cry with the beautiful prayer(it made me think of Nala) and the picture of your two precious Angels and their flockmates who are waiting for you always until yall meet again. They were all so so lucky to have you as their dad,no birds were ever more loved and cherish and they knew that every day.

When we bond with our feathered dudes, we bond. While my heart breaks for you, I know their lives were so blessed to have you to love them.

Because of them, you have given back to this community with your knowledge, wisdom, humor (unique at times), and your awesome creative talent to create things.

That was such a beautiful poem, and so touching. You had an amazing bond with them all; especially Tika and Amanda. They will never be forgotten. You have had so many beautiful stories of them that you shared with us. They will be the core of so many unforgettable and beautiful memories for you.
I can just picture Tika and Amanda sitting on your shoulders as you sit making one of your beautiful toys, waiting patiently to try it out.
They may be gone in the physical sense, but I believe they are with you spiritually.
