VEWWY interesting! I had no idea. Regrowing tongues would not be the case for psittacines though would it? I was thinking of April's friend's macaw.

Glad he is doing well. As for regenerating...my horse tossed me one time and as I'm flipping in the air, I was cussin like a sailor and when I landed, I bit off a portion of my tongue, not a lot, but it grew back :joyful:

Thanks so much all. :hug8: The actual tongue is not missing. Just a couple of the brushy things.

Ummmm, I think I need to learn more about thier tongues. They are certainly interesting little birds... Last thing I read about them is they fall asleep in direct sunshine... Yes?

Glad you know more about them than I. :D And glad he will be okay. :hug8: What are the brushes used for?

Actually they look dead when in the sun! They love to sunbath and they actually lay down and look dead. One learns pretty quick about this unusual behavior. Helps reading as most post and the new person doesn't faint when seeing it.

An update on Pico's tongue; It has corrected itself now in length, and some of the filament hairs have grown back. The very tip seems to have some, but the length is shorter. That may be how it was, not sure exactly what 'normal' really is, as before this happened I did not look as close.
