**Update**
Vet visit was a success!
Nares are clear! She is slightly over weight and has mild pododermatitis.
We're thinking she was pretty sedentary before we adopted her and definitely lacking in perch variety.
We also switched her over to a mix of Harrison's and Roudy bush. With peanuts, sunflower seeds, and dried Chiles for treats. And a fresh food bowl every meal.
She is 411 grams! The vet said he would like to see her down around 380 grams.
There was a slight miscommunication.....
We chose a vet nearly 2 hours away because we were told that she would not need to be crated. She does not like any type of confinement. And while I understand the safety aspects, I was much more concerned about how stuffing her into a carrier would affect the trust we've built and all the work she has put in the last couple months.
Well long story short we made the drive without any incident. She was actually pretty happy to sit and take in the drive.
We get there and it turns out she does need a carrier. After talking with 3 different people there was no way around it.....
As soon as they set the carrier down she bit me right in the face. Not a malicious bite, more like "please don't make me" which felt way worse!
Other than that the visit was a success and she didn't seem too traumatized.
