I keep contemplating looking at a standard, the breed really ticks all the boxes that I ever look for, but the only problem is is that I really dislike the texture of the hair… is it difficult to care for? I would definitely not do the typical continental cut because I think it looks dumb, and it has such a need for constant trimming. I’d honestly probably doodle my poodle
Cinder doesn’t have adult coat yet, she’s currently going through coat change, which is where they loose the fluffy puppy fur and develop the rough curly coat poodles are known for.
There is a lot of maintenance involved if you keep them in full coat. Cinder is in a modified continental right now, which is the normal continental without the hip puffs and a shorter top knot/ears.
But I also see lots of folks who just keep them shaved in like a kennel clip. Cinder was in a Miami cut (short all over with leg puffs) until I decided to grow her out.
But my step-mom has a mini who she just keeps shaved all over, but they also don’t brush so -shrug- to each their own
Lol
There’s no real “right” way to keep the coat cut so long as it’s mat free imo
