I wish my commenting skills were better. Believe me when i tell you that i would never be ignorant towards someone who is in distress over their beloved pet. Sometimes people will overlook the obvious when faced with something like this person is. I felt so bad i had to give some kind of advice until someone else came along.

It is ok to make mistakes and it can take time to develop commenting etiquette. I have definitely made mistakes in the past. Your intention was correct. Sometimes it helps to remember that we can't see faces or hear reactions in the posts. I have found using less direct language can be helpful and to think of things as suggestions, options and possibilities. Especially in such a stressful situation we could do better to come across as hand holders. Learning is a continuous process. Your heart was in the right place.
