Hi my name is Zach and I'm seeking advice about my Quaker parrots . I have 1 male green Quaker named Lucky he's about a year and 5 months old . The starting of April this year I got him a female mate shes a Camino albino Quaker named Luna and she's roughly 3 to months old I got her at 8 weeks old April 1st . Now lucky has had this entire time to try to get along with luna for the most part but lucky is very jealous of just about anything involving Luna and is bitting at her and removing head feathers , does anyone at all know how to stop this so they will bond . Luna and lucky both are friendly Quakers and Luna keeps trying to get close to lucky to be friendly but lucky almost always reacts negatively. I do have separate cages for them and a huge setup for the both of them and separate bowls . There's no rehoming option only get along or be separated always . I also don't keep my birds locked in their cages all day I allow them free roam of my living room as if they were free in the wild just with human guidelines or rules as most would put it otherwise training methods. my only issue is the biting of jealousy. Please any advice I'll try at least . Thank you

That's their home setup so they have lots of space and things to play with

Would also appreciate people not posting their birds as replies for simple fact your pictures don't have anything to do with giving advice on the issue unless it's displaying how to fix the problem between two Quakers also please do not reply at all if you don't actually own or have personal experience with Quakers especially on this specific topic thanks and have great day . Look forward to any helpful advice .

I don’t have quakers, but thought I’d try to help anyway.

For clarification, is he going after her, or is he only biting her when she goes towards him?

Only when she gets to close enough to him while he's being pet or near something he likes of that makes sense but never actually seems her out to fight

Hi, yep trying to get over pneumonia.
People signatures can have photos or art of their birds, and it's automatic added after every post .

I love that you have yours out most of the time and have provided places for them to hang out and enrichment and keep them flighted!! Great stuff. Both cages are a little small in my opinion, but if they are only sleep cages it's fine.

Go ahead and move the cages a little farther apart , another foot apart should be good .

It takes time to build relationships between birds sometimes. My 2 remaining girl quakers , started out just tolerate the other being around but no closer than about 8 inches. In a year or so they would hang out near each other , another 6 months after that would preen each other. And about 3 years after meeting they decided they were bonded and wanted to share a cage , and that's where we are now 6 months later still.

Anyway, I would break up how you do their time right now and add postive associations. I would suggest spending time with only one out , then switch , then last have time with both out together as your daily routine for now . So I would do an hour with each individual, and the rest of their time as both out together.
Postive association, have one step up to you and treat them walk to where the other is , keep the one on you and hand out treats to both and then walk away again, switching who you fo this with and f
o several times a day .

I just signed up to this site and there's no instruction how it actually works so I figured it was a group thing all bird owners would see don't really care if the admin has nothing to say only seeking actual helpful advice from any real experienced bird owners not these first time but hurt owners that keep their birds in a cage all day and yell at it when it make noise . Only seeking info from people that understand common sense and don't take things personally like a moron does already some people are getting butt hurt cause I kindly asked to reply with any pictures like I've seen already someone posted a picture saying something like this is our beautiful baby which has nothing to do with giving advice.

At no point in my post did I use any passive aggressive language (unlike you) I was trying to explain to you how the website worked

There are plenty of instructions on how to use this site. How-To Junction

There are also helpful tips here on appropriate ways to communicate here with other members... Neighborhood Etiquette

Please familiarise yourself with both the linked forums and remember to be respectful at all times.

If your birds are not getting along they should be separated for the safety of the less aggressive one.
Much like with humans in situations with other humans they did not choose to be around, sometimes they like each other without any encouragement at all and other times no amount of encouragement changes the dynamics.

Are they flighted ? Now reading this again I'm thinking not.

I would change the perch areas slightly so not a linear chase lane . Right now a bird can be chased or bullied downward . Just adding some circle around or bypass lanes ;) for lack of better terms. Weill help prevent trapping and bullying , and need to be at the same level as their preferred perch height. Or 2 rope spirals hung from ceiling over each of the cages . The layout is very important , even for flighted , but more so if are not flighted . Birds will punk each other a little, and they need an avoidance/retreat option that isn't being driven downward
