I am looking to re-home my 1.5 year old fiery shouldered conure. She is DNA sexed as a female (I have a certificate) and has a leg ring for ID/registration purposes. She is very healthy and sees a vet regularly for nail trims and check ups. She is hand tame, trained (recall, step up, target and a few fun tricks. Halfway to harness training, we got stuck at a certain stage but you might have more luck with prior experience.)
Her personality is lovely. She is naturally very quiet for a bird and independently plays all day if you are in the same room as her. She is accustomed to only being caged to sleep or for safety reasons, and to being in the same room as someone for at least six hours a day. She sleeps from 7:30pm to am. Enjoys regular training routines, hand tame and enjoys scratches, quickly adapts to perching on strangers and interacting with them although choosy about who gets to pet her. New owner would ideally WFH and have a room where she could safely be out all day
The reason for rehoming is because I believe I cannot adequately care for Pepper due to severe depression and other mental health problems. I am unwilling to compromise and will not let Pepper go into conditions which are worse than her current ones. The ideal home would be someone who already has conures and is willing to take the risk of integrating her into their flock, as I would like her not to be a solo bird any more.
