So Kitkat is newly weaned & eating foods very well but I'm wondering what percentage of seeds I should offer? She's on a mix of tops & roudybush pellets + several diverse seed mixes + millet spray a few times a week.

I'm about to go out of town & I'm wondering how much seed vs pellets I should ask the inlaws to feed her? She eats seed well but not pellets 100%.

For Quibble he was not eating any pellets before I got him, so for the first week I only did a few sprinkles of pellets with 25% veggies and 75% seeds. Right now I'm feeding him probably 50% veggies, 25-35% seeds, and 15-25% pellets.

Honestly though I would feed whatever you know he will eat, especially if it's only for a few days, etc.

I don’t have a percentage but more pellets than seeds for sure. If you just give pellets and h than after they eat some switch it out to seed instead of mixing them together they won’t pick out the seed.

Yeah, it's more than a few days, it's my & my husband's honeymoon. I'm leaning towards more seeds than a mix of stuff just because he's newly weaned. What are your thoughts?

I would feed him what he's eating and deal with diet conversions later.

Will your family be monitoring him to make sure he eats?

Would the breeder take him for the 2 weeks just in case?
That's what I'd do personally if your unsure if he'll eat he'll be better off with the breeder so they can make sure he's doing OK.

I'm certain he eats, he has had a crop full of seeds & millet & some pellets. I was willing to do that if he wasn't weaned obviously. & yes my inlaws will make sure he eats. I've got a mega detailed animal care sheet broken down into categories. I'll give him mostly seeds & then work on diet conversion when I get back home, I'll switch it to more pellets than seed.

He's eaten pellets so he knows they are food but just prefers seed & since he just weaned I think I'd rather him eat seed & some millet vs not eating much when I'm gone & getting sick cause I wanted him to eat pellets, you know what I'm saying? He's been exposes to pellets, seed, millet, birdy mash, homemade bird bread so he knows they are food but I know he will eat seed & millet. It might not be the healthiest thing for him to eat when I'm gone but it won't be his long term diet by any means & I'd feel better about knowing he'll eat the seed vs him only picking the small amount of seeds out & then being hungry because he doesn't 100% recognize that pellets are food yet. He's not confidently eating pellets like he does seed.
