Finally got around to buying a light for the cage and it should be here on Monday :D

It will be mounted out of reach with wire covers, of course ;)

The bulb wont come in until May 20th, so I will use a general one for now.. The cage lighting has always been awful (my entire room has poor lighting unfortunately!) and after reading through this forum post, I decided that having some lighting there would be good! I initially wanted UVB, but after reading, I don't think so :cautious:
I decided to go with the Avian Full Spectrum E26 A19 LED Bulb for Birds from Waveform Lighting.

On another note.. I should probably be getting ready for my volunteer job tomorrow instead of spending more money on the birds... Oops :xflove:

Keep in mind when using standard bulbs. Most flicker that we cant see but birds can.Enough to drive a bird crazy i would think. I was told the best way to test for flicker is to make a slow motion video of the bulb. If you see flicker in the video, thats what birds see. Some led bulds flicker , some dont. I changed the bulbs in my entire house so my birds dont have to deal with it. Supposedly bird bulbs dont flicker, for that reason. I used to have a tv in my bird room for the birds to watch. Come to find out the refresh rate is 60hz on most tvs. That means it flickers to them.

That is the main reason I got the waveform bulb, but you're right, I should check the normal bulb even if it's only temporary
