My 1 year old Yellow-Crowned Amazon has been biting me recently and I'm not sure why. It's only me by the way, she's fine with my mom and any other people in the house who she's familiar with. Just a few days ago she was happily stepping up on my hand to spend some time outside of her cage. Usually what I'll do when she doesn't want to come out is leave the cage door open and hang out near her cage while she decides if she wants to come out herself or not. I've done this for the past few days and she'll climb out but when I try to get her to step up on my hand she'll kind of growl and bite my hand. If I do get her on my hand, it'll take about 2 second for her to decide that it's not fun, and fly to the top of her cage. My sister told me a while ago that when parrots get older they go through like a "teenage rebellion" phase where they're trying to "leave the nest", but she's only a year old, and plus, if she was going through a "teenage rebellion" phase right now she would also be aggressive to my mom too (especially since she sees her as her own mom). I'm thinking it could also be because I don't get to see her every day. This might be too much information but basically since my parents are divorced, I have to be at my dad's house one week and my mom's house the next, and my parrot only stays at my mom's. My mom gets to see her daily, but I only see her for a week before leaving again. Maybe it could also be because I'm just trying to get her out of her cage at the wrong time of day? But I don't have a clue. If anybody knows what is going on and if there's anything I could do to fix it, I would greatly appreciate the advice.
