Good day all! A while back I had to separate my 2 male zebras Bingo and Sunny (On another social media page I made a post about my struggles of trying to help them get along. They were really good for about 4 months after I got them but then it went downhill. Eventually I had to accept they weren’t going to get along).

For context: Bingo is a little bit bigger than Sunny and he is the aggressor in this case. They’ll be best buddies for a couple of weeks before Bingo starts chasing and attempting to mate with Sunny, forcing him to hide until his aggression episode is done. Bingo will also pluck Sunny so these are all signs that they should not be together.
Sunny is a little bit scrawnier than Bingo and does not defend himself. I’ve only seen him push Bingo away maybe twice.

For this reason, I want to put Sunny with a society finch. Maybe a male society. I think they will get along better than a female zebra because societies are more gentle and laid back. But I would like to ask what you guys think?
I hear that for societies and zebras, however, they need a bigger cage. (My current cage is a 30x18x18 cage. Sunny is currently staying in it. Bingo is staying a little bit of a smaller cage until it can be upgraded)

Bingo I know for sure he’ll be paired with a female zebra but I’m a little bit hesitant to get him another cagemate because he was so aggressive before.

Thank you all!
