Good afternoon everyone! I hope you all are having a great start to the Spring season.
I was hoping to get the community's input on my pionus, Jiminy, and the condition of his beak.
I've noticed a little wear on his beak this week, moreso than it's ever been. I've attached a photograph for reference. Do you guys think it's worth taking him to the vet?
For context, I am aware that pionus parrots don't have an oil gland which contributes to their "chipped" appearance.
Also, Jiminy has tons of wooden toys he plays with and chews on on a routine basis. He gets tons of outside-cage time. He also has a consistent diet of ZuPreem pellets, and a variety blend of vegetables, fruits, nuts, etc. Disposition wise he seems really happy and healthy, but I also know parrots can disguise illness if they have any.
Would appreciate any immediate thoughts or suggestions you all may have. Thanks so much!
