Some people are less reactive to insect venoms and allergens. Or maybe you’ve just been lucky.

—but-the kookaburra! I know little about them except an annoying folksong that I learned in grade school. They are so cute! Are they obnoxious?

What is the kookaburra song?
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree?

That’s the one I’ve heard. I learned it really young & so thought they were monkeys. No one said what they were & it was pre-internet. :roflmao:

Yep (kookaburra sits in the old gum tree…). I never saw a picture of a kookaburra until a year ago, saw a baby kookaburra being fed fish treats at a seaside restaurant.
They are cute. If Willow was more talkative I might try to teach him that song. I think you can sing it in rounds.

Aww what a shame you did not know they are birds. They are fascinating birds, see them very often along the roadside on the powerlines with decent sized snakes which is really a sight to see and their laugh really is quite the sound!

A wild white swan that sometimes shows up at the pond at work.

No pictures unfortunately but had an interesting interaction with a "wild" SC2 this morning. S/he was very interested in me and I talked with it for a bit before it flew off. I'm a little suspicious if it was an escapee...

Oh man, I could post several dozen photos.
In the past few months alone, I've seen: a bobcat, bunnies, a groundhog, chipmunks, countless squirrels, and a flock of 7 turkeys (which are obviously birds, but they aren't your average backyard visitor).

You must live near me! We have the same backyard creatures. This past Spring I had a bear in my backyard!

As we’ve been flooded three times since Christmas Day and had an awful lot of rain, there is still a lot of water laying everywhere so a lot of snakes and lizards have been on the move to find dry land or food.
I found one who had got himself into some awful trouble up against our door so I was naughty and did exactly the opposite of what we’re meant to do and I put him into a box to try to keep him safe while I found someone qualified to help him out. After refusing to pay nearly $400 for him to be rescued and released I managed to talk our local vets into checking out the situation to see if they could help and they surprisingly did! What species is that?!
That is lovely Lucky, she is a common Boa constrictor or Boa imperator or Boa constrictor imperator.... she's been with us over 20 years now and the scientific name has changed almost as often as she sheds :roflmao::p she was a tiny little noodle when she came home.

@riddick07 what is Lucky's actual age?
