Schubert digs the New York Daily News from a friend - lots of strange stuff to read there, for sure.

I put newspaper on top of my grate.. makes easier cleaning. I just roll up the old and put down the new. Sport likes to shred it up and Beakner seems to like going down and retrieving dropped food or toys.
I like the freezer paper Idea. That would make it a lot easier to keep an eye on the poop color.

I also like the freezer paper idea, that's genius! I'm debating about taking Archie's grate out so he can go down on the floor of it, I clean his cage daily but he ALWAYS drops his foot toys down there, even when I have them up on the playstand on top of his cage
Its an obsession for him I guess.

I'm not "getting" the freezer paper idea. Newspaper absorbs excess liquid in their droppings whereas the freezer paper wouldn't. And then, if the bird walks through it...wouldn't that be a mess?
