I feel you,! It's stressful, that's why I'm already trying to prevent eggs next spring here!Well, I just found egg #3.She'd just gotten my hopes up too, because we passed the 48 hour mark and I thought we were done. Clearly Sprite had other plans.
Sprite looks fine though. She was grinding her beak as I was telling her she was bad for laying another egg, lol.
No, this one was laying broken at the bottom of the cage like the others.
Definitely let me know what works for you, because I'd really like to prevent this from happening again if I can.

It is interesting, that they are kinda in between determinate and indeterminate. I definitely have old school learning on this species..

No, I was in a place with really intense heating yesterday which I think did it. Plus I probably didn't hydrate enough on top of that. But thankfully I feel much better today!Hope you feel better soon
Yeah, it really is interesting. I finally got a chance to read through the thread @Shezbug linked, and there's some really good info in there.
I'm still wondering though, what happens in a case like Sprite's where she isn't interested in hatching her eggs at all. Will she still stop once she reaches 4-6 eggs? Or will she keep going? So far we're still on egg #3 so I guess all I can do is wait and see at this point.

)That is a possibility, although when I came into the room moments after she laid egg #2 I never saw her look at it. But it's still possible she may have looked before I came in and saw it broken.

Okay, so we're well past the 48 hour mark since her last egg and there's no sign of a fourth. I don't want to jinx it, but I think she may be finished.

My brother said I should hatch an egg and call it S'mores, lol. I told him it's not happening! Their babies really would be pretty, but I'd prefer if Marshmallow exercised some restraint from now on, and wouldn't encourage Sprite to go through this again.Yay
Although I think I was a lot more stressed than Sprite was. She handled this all like a champ.
