So we have added a few editions in 2022/2023. This has made me think about our cage style and room layouts. We have a bird room though it’s a lot of large cages now (6.5’x3’x2’ each) and not a ton of bird free space. They spend 60% of the day in their aviaries.
I saw Zeb post his dander room with stackable cages. His birds also spend most of the day outside of their cages and in their aviaries.

Do any of you have stackable sleeping cages? How do you find the birds on the bottom cage do being that low? I know birds prefer the highest point to roost. If we switched to these it would free up a ton of room in the bird room for more trees stands for the off day we have crappy weather.

I have never used them, but I do personally know someone who does and she has said that it took the birds in the lower cages some adjusting time, but they did get used to it.

My birds are fine in the lower bunk but I have very small birds who adapt super quickly. I don´t think it is the same as larger parrots at all, so I´m not of much help...

Why not raise them up ? It would be easier to have top closer to the ceiling and make access to bottom better for you and probably reduce stress in bottom bunker.
