so good news! stinky bird took a bath on his own today! hes eating anything but pellets though so my moms gonna do her best to ease him into eating pellets again. would handfeeding be a good idea? any other tips?

hes been munching up some vegetables and we bought some beans and bell peppers to try with him as well! hopefully it all works out

When getting my boy on pellets, I pretended to enjoy snacking on the pellets, and I actually did eat some.
If bird thinks pellets aren’t food, this is one way to show him they ARE.

romeo has been doing much better! hes eating normally again and hes taken a few baths on his own! we've replayed all the events that happened with the vet as well and have come to a definite conclusion that it's just stress in the new house that we've moved in. there's constant construction outside (we live in a new neighbourhood) and the sounds of machines have been scaring him. at night, weve placed a fan for some white noise to block out any small sounds that might be scaring him while hes sleeping, and he's stopped his plucking episodes and is slowly coming back to normal!

we're still working on bringing his weight up, its still around 90-95 oz so if anyone has any tips on foods that cn help him gain some weight that would be amazing!

we've tried some different foods for him too like carrots, cooked beans, and sweet potatoes but hes not very fond of them, but we're still trying now and then to see if he'll warm up to those!

Thank you so much everyone for the help and advice <3

He looks beautiful and fully feathered.

Yes, Quakers DO tend to pluck out of stress. They are very busy birds in the wild and that fussy energy has to go somewhere. My last Q was a builder and spent all day arranging and rearranging sticks, straws, and toys. My current boy Q is scared of new objects but chews his nails. When anxious, he will barber. He needs to be pet and cuddled each day or he gets upset and chews his feathers.

Romeo is adorable! Maybe you could give him treats of seed; like trick train and use sunflower as a reward? My boy likes avicakes but only eats the seed out if them. Also when they’re growing lots of feathers, a little bite of hard cheese, cooked egg, baked fish or chicken gives extra protein.

What a handsome boy.
