These little guys are just the best! We were down to one a little over a year ago and I found a breeder in the Madison area. We were going to get a baby who was still weaning but I was so nervous that our remaining Linnie wouldn’t make it, so he sold us a retired breeder. They bonded immediately but we lost him in December and we were down to one again. I called the breeder near me again and we got another breeder who had shared an aviary with the first one we got. I jumped at it and now we have Levi the Second and Lilly who are about the same age. They are so much happier with. A Lonnie buddy. I belong to two Linnie FB groups and people do rehome from time to time, so I’ll keep my eyes open for you. I can ask Vaughan if he knows of anyone in your area or closer to you that might have anything available.

Linnies are like potato chips, you just cant have one. The seem to blossom with a cage mate. I had two for many years.

The breeder that I brought my first birds from (peach-faced lovebirds) used to keep both of these species as pets, and had them cage free around her breeding room for small species. Also, there is still a breeder in my state who breeds both and, at least she used to, have them interact together when they were young.

So I've reached out to several people, most of which have been bird flippers that did not seem to care at all about the bird, only wanted money. :/ Everything has been a 6+ hour drive, which my husband was not on board with. I've had a lot of people share with me breeders in neighboring states.

I am talking with someone now about a bird, in Michigan, but not a Linnie. I think they will be a good fit. More details when things are official ;)
