Hi all, been a while again! I now work at a dog and cat rescue and work closely volunteering at another rescue that does birds and other small critters too. :] Since I last updated everyone, I've added three new birds to the flock and I couldn't be happier.
Sagan came first, back in September of last year. She was a baby that a friend had found and nursed back to health. She is the ash red check, and after some long introductions, Jasper fell in love with her. They're now mates and are hardly ever apart
The other two came to my place about February last year because of construction happening next door to the small animal rescue I volunteer with. They were at risk of their nest being closed off from the outside in and it took two tedious hours to coax both of them out of the hollow metal area they were in. They're named Nickel (bronze female) and Dime (blue male). They took a while to come around but now Nickel is comfortable eating near me and my hands and Dime is still shy but much more trusting seeing his mate comfortable.
Been a busy year and I'm excited to see what 2024 brings. Hope all you poultry folks are doing well!
