I rehomed an older male budgie a few weeks ago, he was pretty nervous initially but I kept him isolated where he could hear & see other budgies. As he got comfortable eating from me + stepping up I started giving him supervised time flying around the other birds while they were in their cages, since his flying is not the best and I eventually want to introduce him to the flock. But after a short time where he tried to flock with the other birds while they were out (he was barely strong enough to fly with them) he’s been VERY hormonal. Past few days he’s been lightly biting, refusing to chill with people outside the cage, incessantly screaming for the others, and he’s began *pleasing himself* on my hand. As far as I know he hasn’t seen another budgie in a few years so I understand the fascination, but is there any changes I can make to his diet/cage to decrease this hormonal behavior?
