Here's a close up of Oscar's beak. Is it overgrown? Why is it so flaky on one side? He still won't leave that high perch and I don't believe he's drinking from the water sources. The only moisture I'm sure he's gotten is from the bell peppers I hand fed him.

Those pinnies make him look miserable.

I don't know about the beak. Had he seen a vet?

I know (the pin feathers). I've been misting him all day as, wouldn't you know it our AC has quit working on one end of the house and isn't too good elsewhere. Of course it's the end he's in. We think it may be an duct end with failed tape. I understand they are pretty chintzy with these manufactured homes. It's almost 90 in here. It was only supposed to go to 79 today. George is crawling under the house now.

I don't know if he's ever seen a vet, but he will before the end of the month.

His upper beak might be a little overgrown. I’m sure the vet can trim that easily if they think it’s needed.
My birds have often grown a little fang on the end of the beak that’s very sharp.

Do you need to trim their nails often?

I'd trim my Conures nails every 2 weeks like clockwork just to make sure they were in perfect shape. But I was able to do it myself so it maybe harder to stick to that time frame if you need to go to the vet to get it done.

I never need to trim Willows nails because like many quakers he teethes on his toenails and keeps them groomed. He is a strange little bird. I think he basically sucks his thumb.
It does look like he's sucking his thumb! I think Oscar's nails are too long. They are curled. He did a bit of chattering with me. We played a game of peekaboo and he began spinning the big toy by his high perch then peeking at me through the strings hanging on the toy as they spun (I'll have to take a picture). Then he would do this funny little kick with his leg while snapping his head around and saying the same word. I couldn't make out the word though and I still can't get him to move from that perch. It's like he's afraid to step onto the other perches and, even though he climbed up to the perch using the cage, it's like he doesn't realize he can climb over to another spot. That or it hurt him in some way to climb. I didn't realize how thick his beak would be. I did notice when I put the cage together that though it supposedly has 1/2" bar spacing, it doesn't seem as big a space as TD's cage and his is definitely 1/2". I'll have to measure it and I think it'd be a good idea to get him to a vet as soon as possible.

Curled nails are too long, yes. The nail should make 90 degrees of a 360 degree turn (a circle). I’m not sure if his nails are dark and you can’t see the quick; I would take off a little bit at a time to try to avoid bleeding. If nails haven’t been trimmed in a long time the quick may have grown out a bit and it’ll be easier to cut too short and hurt him a bit.

when you cut nails you can have cornstarch or flour around to stop any bleeding. You can also stick a bleeding mail stub into a bar of soap.

you can either use tiny cat claw scissors or even people nail clippers.
I would probably scratch his beak with my fingernail to get some of those flakes off and give him a good scritch if he’ll allow it.
He’s a good looking bird!

Or...... just have an avian vet trim the nails during his check up.

I'm with you! I quit cutting my dog's nails when the arthritis in my hands got so bad I cut both of their quicks. I take TD to have his done, twice the vet has made one of his bleed (two different vets, different places) so I think I will continue using the vet for TD and Oscar's nail cutting!

We live in a manufactured home and I had to deal with a similar situation with ours right after we moved in after closing. They are built as one, two, or three sections then they are joined together on site and finished out. The heating ducts run down the center or so of each part ane the furnace section feeds the other sections with insulated flexible vinyl pipe that runs to the other section to feed air to that side. Mine the house was abandoned for a while and animals and homeless people broke in and took it over. The flex pipe had a large hole chewed in it, and all the 90 degree ducting feeding from the furnace and from the plastic duct to the other half was rusted out with holes all over them.
One half of the house had no air flow because of the huge holes everywhere. Luckily Home Depot had just decided to carry all the HVAC pipes and parts needed to completely rebuild everything. I bought everything I needed eventually as I tore it down and discovered all the damage under the house. I have done this sort of similar thing at work when we redo ductwork for the gas furnaces at work and we have the tools. I have about 200 bucks in parts and all the bad parts I replaced myself in two days under the house. I might even have a post about it here with pictures from 2012 when I first joined the group.
Somebody probably needs to go under the house and see what's going on, hopefully something has come loose or broke and is a easier and cheaper fix then what it would have cost me to pay a HVAC shop to do it. Don't forget to double check that the floor vent didn't get closed just in case too.

Check inside your AC cover to see if it’s frozen up. And wash the filter if it’s clogged. Then try resetting maybe?

Mine wasn’t working; I took the cover off and there was a big block of ice occluding the vent and air exchange.
Maybe this is something everyone knows but I didn’t.

Turns out the flood caused by the ruptured hot water line the day before somehow poured into the insulated , vinyl, flexible pipe that takes the air to the other side of the house. The weight of the water caused it to fall off completely. George spent awhile under the house (by this time it had started really pouring, bless his heart). He went under with a full roll of duct tape and came out with none). He found a lot of issues under there. When they set this house up they really cut corners. No giant hose clamp thingees... just thin, rusted wire and falling off duct tape everywhere. Sounds like we had it easier than you, though.

We had our AC freeze up like that once in the RV. It was the first and only time we had both left and left the boys (Charlie, Dusty and TD) alone for more than an hour. It was just last year in New Mexico and we had gone to look at a newer RV. We were gone for about 2 1/2 hours and when we returned it was 104 inside! I thought I was going to lose TD. We had that AC running everyday almost all day and that had never happened. It was very scary!

Yeah, I bought the big industrial zip ties, the aluminum tape, the special tool to install the big zip ties, plus all the parts. Glad he was able to easily put the pipe back in place. He might want to consider redoing things with the big zip ties and aluminum tape later as it should hold up way better and is the way the pros wrap up all the pipe seams etc and it should be much more heat resistant.
I even had to put the main outlet pipe onto the underside of the fan vent back onto the the furnace as it had mostly came loose and was about to fall off too. He also might want to look and see if there is a ac outlet under there and water pipe heat tape wrapped around the incoming water pipe. Mine has it and it came loose one winter when it was about 20 outside and the pipe froze. Luckily I was able to use a hair dryer with the ac outlet and heat the frozen spot till it melted and get the heat tape plugged in securely and it hasn't happened since and the pipe was ok. I can look through a vent very close to the tape and see if the little pilot light is on for the tape so I double check every winter before it gets cold now.

Trust me it's worthwhile, wether or not Ac circulation. Because it very much still reduces risk. My filters say they are rated fir bacteria and virus particles...like I'm not 100% trusting thst but it's got to decrease the load
