Hello all! I have recently adopted a lovely older cockatiel from a less-than-ideal situation. Due to her age and an all-seed diet, she has(thankfully only) a minor liver deficiency, she will need to have a daily supplement (around .3ml) indefinitely.

Does anyone have a specific food that they use for administering medications or supplements?

I have used bread or boiled egg in the past for temporary medications, but would like something a bit healthier for use long-term.

also a photo of the scraggly old lady (in a temporary cage) as tax. IMG_6464.jpeg

Thank you for taking her in , poor old lady birdie . Give her kiss from me .

I like to use baby bird formula, just mixing up a little, adding what ever needed given slow at beak tip , or you could offer in a dish and see if she likes it..

I give sweet potato baby food! I even give it on a small baby spoon so it's a special little bonding moment haha
