I feel so happy! Such a struggle to find a way to make the door tall enough, look good amd be sturdy. To note: this is a safety door, the bedroom door behind it will remain closed when the birds are out. This outer door is not an extension of the room, it is double safety from our cats and will keep the birds from accessing the whole house. Screenshot_20240228_081404_com.android.gallery3d.jpg

The pet door as the main door. The netting was laid out and zip tied to make the holes smaller. The pet pen sections were zip tied to the top of the door to extend the whole door to the ceiling.

Nice. Great idea.
My cat loves hanging out right outside the door. If the birdies are free flighted in the room she can possibly sneak in. I also almost had an accident as one bird followed me out and was chased down the stairs by my cat.

Yikes. Ive seen my outside cat snatch up birds in flight. Cats are incredibly fast.
