Hi, I was wondering if I can use crepe paper to hide treats for my macaw? If not, what colorful paper can be used? She's not very interested in things that don't have color. And loves paper.

Dye some coffee filters with food dye.

Not paper, but if she likes thin card, you can use kids cereal boxes (just remove the gluey bit from the top and bottom). Cut it up and make a few smaller packages for her.

No tissue paper is also not safe.

Scrapbook paper, cupcake liners, and coffee filters are.

Yes food dyes should be safe.

I use Easter egg dye and coffee filters, just don't add vinegar.

You can buy coloured paper just like you can buy printer paper. I buy the coloured paper for kids craft activities and use that. I also buy little cardboard sheets cut out so when you roll them up they make a bon bon for birds. I have also used cup cake liners which are only good for little treats.
