@Zara did your lovebird eggs look like these ?
I have had eggs where the chick started to develop and then died at some point for whatever reason (and there are lots and lots of reasons it can happen).
If that egg is supposedly about to hatch then it doesn't look good.
I agree with @BrianB s comment above. Give it a little more time just to be on the safe side.

We can wait for pictures. We don't want the momma bird getting upset and stressed out :)
So happy you waited and didn't destroy the eggs. Congratulations :yah::cheer:

The dutch blue is Mom and the wild type is dad

And the baby is the one the mom had with her last partner so I’m pretty excited to see what color will come this time

Fingers, toes, legs, and eyes are crossed for you. Arms too. Lol
I am anxiously waiting. How many days apart did she lay the eggs?

I’m relieved but not too surprised that the egg hatched. It looked like a normal late stage embryo. The first egg seemed like it started to develop a bit and then stopped.

What a lot of fun to have a clutch hatching!
Even baby turkeys are cute.

Great news. They are very cute. You may want to add a little bit more shavings to the nest box if you don't think it will upset or stress mom and dad or did mom/dad throw some of that out.

I've filled it up two times and the mom didn't like that so I stopped, she's also very sensitive and will abandon them if I bother her too much so I've decided to let them be and check on them twice a week to make sure they are ok and there's nothing wrong with the legs, the bottom isn't that slippery so they should be ok

How exciting!
Just a little mini update: both chicks are doing extremely well! But I did notice that one of them where making these loud noises almost sounded like a high pitched human cough, did the baby get food in the air pipe when eating from Mom or is it just him calling for food?

Don't leave it. Do something about it. It is an easy fix.
Either tip in some shavings when you are inspecting the chicks next, or give the hen some paper and let her shred it and make the nest herself.

Maybe she’ll be happier if she makes the paper shreds?.
