well ok, so its not exactly a red front, but a mitred. A lady in a nearby town has a mitred conure she would like to give to me. He had a stroke severel years ago, and due to partial face paralysis, his beak does not wear down naturaly, so she drives very far to the vet regularly to get a beak trim. This is no longer feasable for them, money wise. But, *sigh*, he is 25 years old. I guess he is a seed addict. But she says he is a quiet old man bird. My Wagler's Ruby is so loud I cant imagine he is quiet. He is not hand tame and I wont force the issue. I am happy to give him a retirement if thats what the lady decides. Its just sad that the economy is such that they must rehome thier friend. I have offered them budgies to have some birdee friends if they choose. They are very nice people, and life is good for life. We will see...

sounds like the old guy is coming from a loving home, since they are driving him back and forth for a beak trim after a stroke. Even though he's been on all seed diet, they probably don't know any better. Sad that they have to give him up due to financial resons.

Dont get me wrong, I am not complaining at all. They love him very much. I think since hes so old, giving him his seeds would be better than stressing him by trying to change his diet. Her husband enjoys spoiling the old guy, and is sad about the desicion.
