Does anyone have any recommendations for acoustic panels that are not the egg crate foam ones?

No, although I did look into getting them. I would stay away from the ones listed on Amazon as most aren't made thick enough to make much of a difference. Panels built primarily for music sound rooms are a good option. Wish I could recall the company I almost purchased from, which I believe is in Virginia.
