Hello. I had a cockatiel years ago and unfortunately, he met his demise. I decided to finally get another. I was looking for a pure white with black eyes, like the one I had years ago , but, they are rare. So I purchased one that was raised by hand from a lady that breads and hand feeds them. It’s difficult to find names. I tried to take in the info the lady gave me, that he was a loud and energetic singer. He is 14 weeks old now- I’ve had him almost a week and he will periodically softly chirp. He likes it when I play cockatiel singing and chirping on the tv via you tube. He will perk up, flap his wings- total mood shift. He also eats better with these videos playing. I decided early on that I would call him Elvis , due to his vocal capabilities the breader told me about. My husband , who is fluent in Spanish— has always called Elvis Elviro ( elvedo) it has stuck. So his name - although Elvis is not pronounced that way in Spanish- it’s just what my husband calls him. Elviro means “ the white- happy- friendly- true-and trust worthy”. I will be doing something, he’ll fly to the floor, follow me around, and when I sit down, he’ll climb on my foot. I will lift my foot, and he’ll climb up. A true buddy. I didn’t realize how much I missed my other buddy.
