Hi!

Unfortunately, my landlord isn't offering me a new stove but a used one as a replacement for my current stove that is no longer working.
What can I do to make it safe to use for my cockatiel?

The oven itself (inside) smells like oven cleaner. What should I do besides wiping it down with wet rags?

I have an air purifier, but my apartment is not well ventilated. It is a small 1 bedroom apartment, the kitchen and living room are the same room.

Thank you for reading.

My guess would be to wipe it down with duilted white vinegar because vinegar is very good at getting rid of soap residue.
I hope others have some ideas but that's my :2cents: two cents worth

Wet wipe, wet wipe, wet wipe

The only thing that will rid of the smell is to physically remove the residue or cook it off and ventilate well.

You often find when people use oven cleaner that sone of the chemicals get into the little holes where the fan is- if you can pull the fan cover off (usually need a screwdriver to do that- with power off for safety) you can clean it.

Fastest will be cooking it off but if not suitable then a lot of diluting what’s left is your option.

Ok I’m freaking out. The fumes are stronger then I thought. I opened the oven and it still had oven spray film on it.

I have no where to bring my parrot :( my mothers landlord don’t allow pet birds . I can deal with not using the stove but I can’t deal with my parrot dying .

I don’t know if just the fumes from the oven will harm my cockatiel. I don’t know what to do
