I can’t find anything on whether or not it’s bird safe - just that it may or may not be cat safe. Anyone know for sure?

It is on this list under its earlier known name which was replaced by the name wandering dude. https://birdhism.com/blogs/news/common-bird-safe-house-plants
Have not checked other lists for you but if you do a google search and find as many names as possible for the plant you often have more luck finding plants as not all lists use proper names and some lists use names more local to where the list was made. I know that plant as inch plant. Always best to find them listed on more than one list unless you wholeheartedly trust the list writer/sharer and often best if you can find them listed under scientific name as so many plants look and sound alike.

Did a bit of digging.

Sounds like Tradescantia zebrina (Wandering Dude) can be mildly toxic to animals when consumed, and can cause dermatitis.
A plant from the same family, 'Tradescantia fluminensis (AKA White Stripe and Tricolour) are seemingly parrot safe.
Considering these are both from the same family, and theres not much info on it, I would say you can absolutely use it around the house, but don't let your birds nibble on it. Maybe you can put it in a terrarium dome?

It’s pretty much the only plant I can keep alive and go figure I can’t have the birds near it
