Hi all,

I'm wondering if this heater is bird safe (I wouldn't leave them unattended around it, of course) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07MFPBT4D?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

I'm worried about losing power in the current storm my state is having since it is cold here and often takes a few days for power to be restored. My parents have this heater and they offered it to me for the birds, but I want to be sure it wouldn't hurt them before agreeing.
Thanks!

The oil-filled heaters are safe. I have a Delonghi myself and use it daily.
Just make sure your birds don't land on it when it is hot.
If you lose power - how do you plan on powering this heater? Do you have a generator?
Sweeter Heaters (XS is fine) draw much less power than an oil-filled.

Thank you! I was under the impression from my parents that it would work without electricity, but now that I am reading about it, apparently not!

General note: Make sure with any heating device to let it run outside or in the garage, etc, for a while to offgas!

Very much this - I just had to replace mine and ended up having to run it outside for a full 12 hours before the smell finally dissipated
