So I posted a thread a while back now asking for some moulting advice with my sparrow, and now I keep having this new issue that I'm not sure how to resolve but I'm worried for his safety.

So I mentioned in the previous thread that he is very skittish and gets easily frightened. There have been occasions when he gets spooked and takes off flying around the room and has flown straight into my window (this happened twice where he hurt himself badly as he hit the window quite hard and took about a month to fully). But I recently moved (just over a month ago) and have had the same issue only with it being less severe but more frequent. I more or less know what will frightened him so I try to make sure there is nothing that can scare him but he still is very jumpy in general, the other day he took off just because I moved my hand Now I know that it takes them time to settle once they have been moved but I also can't leave him permanently inside his cage so I'm not sure how to fix the problem but I'm worried that he might hurt himself worse than he did before....

Don't know if this is what you want to read but if he is easily scared and is crashing into things then the best thing to do is limit his flying area or maybe get a larger cage that would be spacious enough for him to fly around.
If you let him fly free probably best to close the blinds/curtains so he won't go directly into a window. Also do you wear red clothing or have anything red in your home that he can see. For whatever reason my sparrow was VERY fearful of anything red so I would never wear red in the house and anyone who came for a visit was told not to wear red. In addition, I did not have any red objects lying around.
