I got a second budgie and my first one doesn't like me anymore

Hello! A year ago I adopted a budgie and everything was going well. On the third day when I first tried giving her millet, she immediately jumped to my hand and ate it. Many months later she seemed to be getting lonely so I adopted another budgie. Ever since then, she won't fly to my hand anymore and they're too scared for me to put my hand into their cage. Everytime i try to train them, my new budgie flies away and scares my first one. I've tried to get the new one out of the cage so I can one-on-one train my first one but she's too frightened to leave the cage. If anyone has any ideas on how to help, please let me know, thank you.

Aw I’m sorry to hear that, but glad to hear that they have bonded well to each other. Budgies seem to follow by example, so if you manage to get one to start interacting with you, the other is likely to follow. Try starting slow, feeding them the millet through the cage bars, keeping at their level while you do so they don’t see you as so scary. Once they start coming to you for that (which they will - as long as millet isn’t already available in their cage), then I would start opening the cage, and feeding them it through the door. First starting with longer millet sprays, then getting shorter, until they come to your hand for the small pieces. Then you can build your relationship from there. Other than that, just spend time with them, talking to them/around them etc.
