PTFE and PFOA free and those are supposed to be the killers in Teflon.

Anyone else hear anything about them?

Hmmm, interesting. Going to look it up. Some foods just aren't meant to cook in SS, like rice and eggs. Such a pain to clean.

I never heard of green pans before.....here is the link.

Green Pan : the original

Sounds like a new alternative for me and me buring every single thing I make in the SS pans I currently use.

I have all SS and porcelain coated aluminum. Not a non-stick in the house. I may do a little more cleaning, but I KNOW my birds are safe. I'll never forget nearly killing Hank when I used Simple Green. I thought ohboy it's all natural. About 5 min after I mopped with it he was severly respiratory compromised. I had to hold him under my coat outside for an hour with all fans going in the house. He didn't die, but I think it was a contributor to his current issues. GREEN does not mean GOOD.

What else may this new stuff have in it that is dangerous? I don't know - do you?

I'll stick with SS and enamel coated cast iron. I do not want to take any chances with that. Even if it says green I still don't trust that about birds respirtory systems.

These green pans are so new...not enough history to know what the effects are...not worth the risk for me. I agree ML...I will stick to SS and a little elbow grease.

I'm with you. It's all supposed to be about the birds, not if we have to do a little more work.

LOVED THEM! For a few weeks...

They lose their non-stick properties pretty quickly. Not just mine, I've heard this from a number of folks.

Back to good ol' stainless for me! :D

Target is selling these now also ... or maybe they have been for a while, but I just noticed them a few weeks ago. I've been using stainless steel and cast iron for a long time & am happy with them. I probably will not be adding any new cookware anytime soon :D

Have to say I agree with Mary Lynn and Leslie. I will stick with what I know is safe. A little stuck egg or rice is no big deal, turn the heat down a bit and keep tending your food and this won't happen as much. I buy very cheapo scrub pads which I ditch after a few days, and also have a little brush with a handle that helps immensely.

I have heard about this. Maybe if someone has a vet appt for a checkup or something they can ask their avian vet about it.
