Hello,

My conures beak has been flaky for the last few months and tonight a good size piece came off. Is that normal?

He is a 5 year old Green Cheek Conure whom I’ve had since he was a baby.

They will shed bits of beak so the beak doesn’t get too thick, so yes, some shedding is totally normal.
Offer a variety of chewing materials to help your bird maintain its own beak.
