They are real nice birds. The pictures are typical of their behavior. They are something else. Mannerisms are different so it takes a bit to learn those. They are raised in hollows of trees. Breeders even get mock hollowed out logs for breeding these birds. They enjoy being away in a hide away. Tanya bought a little tent for Elliott as well. My Olivia enjoys them as well.
The boys have black feathers on their head whereas the girls like my Olivia have a reddish brown coloring to their head.
The beak gradually develops a saw tooth pattern in white along the edge of the beak. Their bit is not hard, they have the cutest call and they purr. They can be a aggressive to other birds so need to watch them when they are out.
