Dorian was, admittedly, more interested in cuddling and climbing into my shirt but I'll take that as a win/ he was happy.
:roflmao:
Well hopefully that’s a sign he will come back to you and not go wild in mountains giving eagles a run for their money

Do you have to worry about birds of prey out there very much?

Why doesn’t Dorian get to fly too?

There are many here but they do not cause much worry. Same for ravens, crows, vultures, wild parrots, and seagulls.
We take care and have concern of course but we study them and train our macaws accordingly so we can share the skies.

If we packed up and left everytime we saw any bird(s) of prey/other species at our flight locations, we'd almost never get to fly since they are so prevalent practically everywhere.

He will soon but this particular location is too advanced for his level of training.
He's in his teens, was clipped in previous homes, is male, and is a greenwing, so his training is much more extensive in order for him to safely take to the skies.

I'll likely train my 6 year old adopted Capri hen first as she will be considerably easier to flight train and then I'll either do the 12 year old adopted B&G hen or him. Not 100% sure yet.
Either way, no worries, he will have his turn.
:heart2:
