Here is Pico's Expandable habitats cage-this is when it was first set up before I added an extra thick rope perch and swing. He also has a playstand, atom, boings strung all around, to play on and fly to outside of his cage. Aracaris need a lot of room. They have a lot of energy.

I recently stumbled accross these two cage companies and both have some interesting designs. Has anyone ever heard of or had any experience with either one?

Bird Cages and Primate Cages, Modular Panel Design 1 inch mesh openings by Bird Cages Direct.net. First is birdcagesdirect.net (same company as options kennels, which is their dog/cat kennel arm of the business). They make modular cages where you buy panels and can expand later on if need be. I wonder if the 6'Lx3'Wx3'H would be good for an aracari (basically the first cage shown on the page, but flipped on it's side)? Could always be expanded to 6x3x6 if someone has the room.

Cages, Custom Cages, Eurocage and Aviaries - Corners Limited of West Michigan Second is Corners Limited - they make a larger flight cage that looks like it would be good quality. 60"x30"x78".

Oh jeez I can't believe I even thought that initial cage I posted would be suitable. I blame late night cell phone web surfing on it :-/

Corners limited is an awesome site and has built many wonderful flights for people. I have seen, but am not a fan of the first site. A cage turned on it's side would be a serious PITA. You would not be able to remove and clean the grate where he pooped. Though I keep mine covered now, stuff still gets on it.

The bird cages direct cages actually come in 3x3 panels and can be configured any way you want to. You basically just buy the number of panels you need for whatever configuration you're looking for and then you can connect them any way you want. With the first cage, if you turn it on its side, you would then just purchase a second tray and have two on the bottom. The doors can be flipped any way you want, so all you would have to do on the feed-access door is turn it 90 degrees and install it that way.

Have you heard any feedback on the Corners Limited cages in terms of difficulty putting them together and keeping them clean? I was emailing back and forth with their customer service to get some ideas on options and pricing, and they did mention that it takes quite a bit of time to put the cage together and based on the instructions, it sounds like it would be pretty hard to take it apart again if you ever needed to (e.g., to bring outside to give a good cleaning).
