Bath sprays or just water?

Hi,
I was wondering if I should stick to just using water to bathe my baby CAG or if I should also start using some sort of aloe bath spray. I have heard good and bad things about using aloe bath sprays and just want to do what’s best for my bird.

The aloe is not needed and may even gunk up feathers causing over preening or plucking.

Unless your bird has a skin issue I would totally steer clear of aloe sprays. I love aloe vera and happen to use it for many many things so I grow a lot of it but I would not ever use a pre purchased aloe spray for bathing my bird nor would I consider making an aloe spray for my bird unless it had a diagnosed skin condition that was known to benefit from the use of aloe.

Just water, definitely. As far as I’m aware, the only time anything additional should be used is if there’s a problem - skin issue, something on the feathers, etc.

Think about the wild - they just use water , and do great with it :)
