Any Rat Owners On Here?

I'm curious as to whether anyone here owns some rats! If so, please post pics.
I really want some, but a two-three year life expectancy is not something I can handle.

I used to! Unfortunately, after they passed (3 and 4 years old, so basically ancient for rats) I couldn't do it again. Plus it turns out I'm allergic - if they walked on my bare skin, it looked like I fought with a feral cat colony. I'll have to see what photos I can find, they were so so great. I miss them

I had some girlies about 12 years ago, and boys about 5 years ago. Loved them all! Such great animals but yes too short lived!

I also had rats about 15 years ago. They were the first pets I had when living alone. I had two boys, Rex and Marlon, and loved them so much.

Didn’t know that you could be allergic to rats! And sorry for your loss, they’re great pets.

Agreed! I might try find some to petsit, they’re so sweet, and i would absolutely love some. Wish they lived longer though.

No but I’ve had many friends who have had them and I’m personally more than happy to stick with ferrets if I’m after a small furry animal I think lol.
